#WorshipWednesday- Gary Beck- Stick to the Reggae (Original mix)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gw8Ev8fw-MA
On this edition of Worship Wednesday we take a look at a track from an artist who has become a true Techno powerhouse. Glasgow۪s Gary Beck and his Stick to the Reggae tune (Wor.23) is front and center today. Released back in 2004 on Selecta۪s Choice EP, the track is laced with tropical percussion that is complemented nicely by sun glazed sound effects and perky brass samples. Though Beck۪s track fits the Worship mold perfectly, his sound today is big room Tech House and Techno. Over the past 5 or 6 years Gary۪s work has been found in the arsenal of some serious internationally known talent. Gary۪s music can be found destroying huge festivals such as Time Warp and Awakenings and smashing some of the world۪s leading clubs. While browsing the track lists of some of today۪s Techno royalty such as and not limited to Sven Vath, Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber, a Gary Beck production is more than likely at the peak of their set.
When dance music legends are not playing Gary۪s tracks, he is usually collaborating with them. Beck has teamed up with the likes of Mark Broom, Green Velvet, Jay Lumen, Nic Fanciulli, and Edit Select. The collaboration with these artists has certainly propelled Gary to be a heavily sought after DJ and producer. Though he has teamed up with highly established talent, Beck has created much attention on his own. Back in 2012 Gary released his first full-length album on Slam۪s legendary label Soma. The album entitled Bring a Friend saw Beck flexing his usual razor sharp Techno but also dipping its feet into other sub genres. Institutions such as Drumcode, Electric Delux, Saved, Suara, Sleaze, and of course Worship Recordings have all released his EPs and Singles
Tracks from Gary۪s catalog have been hand selected for some of the industry۪s finest compilations appearing on Cocoon, Fabric, Balance, and Toolroom. While taking care of business with his own productions, Beck has also been busy releasing other artist۪s music with his imprint Bek Audio. Bek Audio۪s impressive roster sees release from Slam, Speedy J, Harvey McKay, Ben Sims, and Mr. G. When he is not launching his music or others, Gary Beck is headlining music festivals around the world or inside clubs from Brooklyn to Berlin all the way to Japan. Here at Worship Recordings we are absolutely thrilled and delighted to see Gary have so much success and of course to have him a part of the family.
