We are well into 2015 and especially the winter season! To help keep the good vibes rolling through the New Year and knock off that chill, the label has put together #WorshipWednesday that is of superstar proportions. As we dust off the Worship history book, we review a chapter from a gentleman whose career has soared to the highest ranks of the electronic music world. Today, we highlight the remix from Frequent Fliers aka Joey Youngman akaWolfgang Gartner! The original track was composed by label boss Rob Paine and features the vocals of Worship Recordings all-star and certainly a favorite, Lady Alma. Youngman۪s version of the original keeps the vocals but replaces the acidic bass line and organic percussions with a classic jackin۪ swing. For the remix Youngman chose to use his Frequent Fliers alias, which is a moniker that the producer had not used much during his House music glory days.
At the tender age of 24 Youngman would already find himself on top of the electronic music world with his instant House classics and being the founder of Fetish Records and its sister label Jackin Tracks. Fetish would see its creation in 2004 with Jackin Tracks following its lead soon after in 2005. Festish would be home to house heavyweights such as Bryan Jones, White Collar Criminals, Mario Fabriani, and of course Joey Youngman himself. Jackin Tracks would make its mark on the House scene by releasing mostly the same artists but with a limitless production style that focused on funky jack driven House tracks. With the accolades of his labels aside, Youngman۪s solo productions would garner him much success. His first production of deeper and funkier House, that Youngman would have become known for, saw its release in 2003 with his Chicago styled hit, Luv Bump. The notoriety from this release would land Youngman on prestigious labels such as Om, Nightshift, and of course Worship Recordings!
In the more recent part of the decade Youngman had left his funky House music tunes aside and started a new project. Youngman would take on the moniker, Wolfgang Gartner, whose production style is more on the commercial end of things. This new chapter in his career would see Joey producing main room Electro and Progressive House. The Wolfgang Gartner persona has found Yougman on mega labels like Ultra, Toolroom, Dim Mak, and Ministry of Sound. When Wolfgang is not busy producing he is working the festival circuit, playing events such as EDC, Electric Forest, Coachella, Electric Zoo, and Creamfields. Here at Worship Recordings we are very humbled to have Joey apart of the family and wish him nothing but continued success!
