Sean Thomas
Philadelphia’s Sean Thomas has been involved with subversive dance culture since 1995. Initially as a member of the Circle Crew, throwing the massive “IT” raves and weekly “YOMAN” club nights which were fundamental in exposing a generation of young minds to proper music, sound and production throughout America’s East Coast. Then as a DJ/Producer, earning a reputation as one of Philly’s numerous first-rate selectors. Through dedication, Sean maintains an enthusiasm for well made House and Techno that need be experienced on the dance floor to fully grasp. Drawing from an expansive knowledge of music and culture, his capacity to connect with crowds and create magic is highly developed. Compelled to explore the depths of sound and form new sonic pathways, his distinct style of fearless, innovative mixing and refined selection keeps listeners engaged, awaiting his next maneuver.
As head of Sound Between Movement, an independent label set up in 2000 with guidance from friend and fellow artist Pete Moss, Sean steadily established his early production identity with a string of vinyl EPs including the standout “Living Music” 3 part series. With releases, remixes and licensing for such reputable labels as Berlin’s Get Physical Music, Philadelphia’s Worship and Recline Records, Northern England’s Illusion Recordings and Vancouver’s Nordic Trax, his thoughtful approach to dance composition has infiltrated discerning heads across the map for many years.
