Through the years many prolific artists have passed through the doors of Worship Recordings and Hakan Lidbo is without a doubt one of them. For this Worship Wednesday we exam Lidbo۪s track Trinity and it۪s Solomonic re-blessing. The track was apart of the Natty Roots EP (Wor.09) and was released back in 2000. Hailing from Sweden, Hakan Lidbo has released 100s of records on a variety of labels spread across the electronic landscape. The Swede۪s true talent lies in his versatility as a producerwith many styles developed over the years.
These multiple styles articulate Lidbo۪s passion for music production as he has yielded deep moody house with SCC Move (Underground House Foundation) all the way to the minimalism of Yellow Fingers which was released on Steve Bug۪s Poker Flat Recordings. You can also find Hakan۪s music on labels such as Tommy Boy, Moody Recordings, Skam, Ministry of Sound, and Moon Harbour. His acidic Saxophone laden track, Overnight, would find itself on Moon Harbour۪s 10 year anniversary compilation in 2010. Outside of remixing House music artists, Hankan has remixed well known rock stars Depeche Mode on their track Peace back in 2009.
With an assortment of genres on his production repertoire it۪s not a surprise that Hakan۪s approach to reggae was executed so elegantly on his release for Worship. The track fires off with a reverb۪ed high hat giving way to many sounds scattered nicely across an island riddim. Solomonic Sound, comprised of Worship Recordings label boss Rob Paine and his roots counterpart Zack Eberz, two true connoisseurs of roots and culture music, were able to bless up the track with a remix in their signature style. The true beauty behind the Solomonic boys is their ability to splice the best of house with the unadulterated rudiments of reggae. The Solomonic re-blessing is a clear picture of this truly ground breaking production style. Worship Recordings is proud to have Hakan Lidbo as part of the Worship team, and is thankful for Solomonic Sound to have had the opportunity to touchhis track.
