Sweden has been known to manufacture some of the world۪s most estimable DJ/ Producers with Jeff Bennett being at the forefront. Bennett۪s relationship with Worship Recordings is through his Passages EP (Wor.18), which was released back in 2003. Passages contains three Dub influenced records, Renovating, Nudge Dem Solomonic, and Nudging the Dub. The third track is at the center of attention for today۪s۪ Worship Wednesday. Leaning towards a more atmospheric approach to the sound Nudging the Dub contains all the essential elements that make for an appropriate Worship release. The track۪s tight bass line moves with proficiency as liquid sounding percussions and a reggae styled vocal sample melt together nicely.
Jeff۪s career spans over many different styles of music ranging from chill out all the way to tougher sounding Techno. According to his website, Jeff has approximately 150 singles to his name that can be found on the world۪s most esteemed labels. Bennett is also at the head of two record labels, Kun Fu Dub Records and Phunctional Loungin. Kun Fu Dub Records handles releases that are on the Tech House/ Techno end of things while Phunctional pushes an ambient sound.
While scanning Jeff۪s news feed on Resident Advisor, we noticed the DJ/Producer has had some major events over the past decade and a half. Jeff۪s music would find itself on mix compilations by John Digweed, Satoshi Tomiie, James Zabiela, and Noah Pred. During the early part of the 2000۪s, Bennett۪s Strange Items track would see a huge remix from Progressive House master Hernan Canttaneo. As a DJ Jeff has headlined the massive Phuture festival in Manchester, and according to his official website has played clubs such as Fabric (London), Paradiso (Amsterdam), and Ostgut (Berlin). As always, we are humbled to have an artist such as Jeff Bennett to be apart of the label۪s history and are proud to celebrate his Nudging the Dub track for this edition of #WorshipWednesday.
